They said it looked really good! The tissue was nice and pink, no signs of infection. Yay! The Integra is holding up really well and he's continuing to grow his own tissue. They are confident that a skin flap is off the table so our next step will be a skin graft. They said that would happen next Monday the 23rd (we were first told Wednesday, the 25th) and then this morning they came in and had me sign a consent for Friday the 20th for a wound vac change and POSSIBLE skin graft...fingers crossed. So if they keep bumping him up, that is just fine with me! The sooner we get this part over the better. If we don't do the skin graft on Friday then that means 5 more days on the wound vac which will put the skin graft back to Wednesday...I think.
This picture was in pre-op, he's gotten very good at coping with the pain. He closes his eyes, leans his head back and breaths slowly and deeply. I'm so proud of him.

They didn't wrap his foot the same as before. Just an ace bandage and the splint this time. I think it's better this way, not as much pressure on his foot. I can see the shape of his foot a little more and kind of prepare myself for what it's going to look like...sort of.
