Spring is here! Sorta. I love the sun playing peek-a-boo. Although, I wish it would come out of hiding for good already! These rainy, gloomy, uninspiring days are getting a bit old. I love the flowers sprouting. The sound of the boys laughter and cheer outside. Springtime projects that have started. I'm ready for more. The other day the sun was out and it was fairly warm out! We spent ALL day outside! Kainen, by the way, started his day off with a practice bus ride during preschool. I had to sign my first permission slip! I kind of wanted a copy of it but I was embarassed to ask. I'm glad he took this bus ride. I had a little breakdown a few weeks back. The thought of his first day off to kindergarten on a bus scared me and I broke down. This bus ride eased my fears and I hope it will ease his when that first real bus ride comes. After picking up Kainen and having lunch we all headed outside. Kainen sat with Daddy on the riding lawn mower (wish I took a picture, these are all things Dave did with his grandpa when he was Kainen's age, in the same house on the same property) while I trimmed back dead plants. Not knowing what I was doing. I don't have my Dad's green thumb...not yet anyway. This was my first gardening experience where it was all in my hands in my garden. I think I succeeded. I moved on to pruning an apple tree with Dave. Another new one for us. We'll see if we get apples. Then to cutting down ferns and other wild brush that I don't care for. I've been planning out my garden. Flowers, vegetables, herbs...Dave is going to build me a couple raised gardens. I don't know if that will happen this year. I think it's too much all at once and know it's getting to be last minute seeing how it's spring already. But I am anxious to get out and buy some flowers to plant around the house to liven it up a bit. Anyway, that was a good day. It made me happy and I'm excited for more.
