So as I mention we brought Miles home on Wednesday! Things are going great. We are adjusting well. Dave had to go back to work so I think he's missing his time with Miles. Kainen is doing just fine. It's like nothing has changed...so far. He's a good helper. I'm doing good as well. I'm glad I had the 3 months to recover from my c-section and get my energy back so I can focus most my attention on Miles. With him eating every 4 hours now I only have to get up twice during the night so I'm still getting sleep. More than I thought I would. I thought my nerves would be getting the best off me and I wouldn't sleep at all. I think bring him home without oxygen, without monitors and without his feeding tube calmed my nerves quite a bit. The nurses and doctors had confidence that he would do just fine which I think gave me confidence too. I still stare at his chest though if I feel the need.
We had his well child check-up today and he weighed in at 9 lbs. 3 oz.--1 ounce more than Kainen was when he was born. Makes sense though. Miles' corrected age is about 2 weeks old. We have to schedule a surgery to correct his hernia within this next month. I'm excited for that. Poor little guy, it seems so uncomfortable. These next few months we'll have to stay to ourselves. His pediatrician told us that we need to be cautious going out in public places. Don't bring him if we don't need to. He won't be able to go to Kainen's birthday party :( That's fine I don't want to risk him getting RSV. But things are going great and I'm looking forward to our time together. Just the four of us.
