Memorial Day weekend we went to the Folklife Festival in Seattle. It was raining and yet it was jammed packed with people. I don't know why I was surprised but I was and we still went because it's always been a tradition in my family. Music, food, artsy fartsy stuff, elephant ears (of course!) AND don't forget the people. I admit that one of the reasons I go is to look at the people. The unnaturally long dreads, colorful hair, odd clothing combination's...some of them can create fairly good music though. I could do without the belly's hanging out and the bra-less girls. Anyway, like I said it was raining so I didn't take many pictures but here are the few...
She did this once...I asked her to do
it again so I could get a picture.
She did. So cute.

We got a text message early this morning from Dave's Uncle Fred who works on a ferry. He said that there was a whale just off the beach feeding. So we jumped out of bed and headed over and there it was, literally just off the beach scooting around scooping up the sand to get the shrimp. It didn't come out of the water too much. We mostly saw his fins moving around along the surface of the water and occasionally his belly when he'd flip around but it was an awesome site and my silly lens didn't capture what we saw...(off to buy a new one soon:)...there were also 2 bald eagles sitting right above where the whale was feeding, got a picture of one flying away...anyway, here's our morning!
