Spur of the Moment

Last weekend we had a family reunion at Kayak Point so we decided to make a trip out of it. The campground was full but there was one Yurt left...that was a new experience! Not a bad one. It just made me excited for tent camping. It just doesn't feel like camping when you don't have to go through the trouble of setting up the tent in the rain when you first arrive. When you have heaters (not that we needed it) and electricity. When you have bunk beds and futons to sleep on. Not the same. It was fun though and it was a nice transition between home and tent since it was our first time camping with Miles. The first night was rain, thunder and lightning...and probably 80ish degrees out...gotta love that! The second was the same...our last night we finally were able to enjoy a fire and S'mores and stay up late playing Phase 10 while the mama raccoon was sneaking around with her 3 babies...I kept forgetting to get out my camera but her are a few pictures...

This is what happens when you leave crayons out in 90 degree weather

The best shade we could get in our campsite...or Yurtsite?
